10. Racism and Discrimination in the NHS, Lifestyle medicine and Wellness sphere

They discuss how COVID-19 has highlighted many of the deep rooted inequalities in our society and health system, and discuss in detail how and why the BAME community has been disproportionately affected. Ally and her guests also delve into topics such as the effect of discrimination on your mental wellbeing, representation in the NHS from chief executives to frontline staff, representation in lifestyle medicine and the wellness sphere and experiences of racism and sexism in the workplace. They also discuss the importance of calling out racism in the workplace and committing to a society in which discrimination is not tolerated. This starts with education, and we hope that this podcast will allow our listeners to educate themselves on some of the realities of racism and discrimination in healthcare. N.B.
